Your privacy, in plain language

Nothing on our servers. Kids' Device Guide has no user accounts and no database of visitors. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or your child's information, and we have no way to receive them.

When you take the quiz, your answers are saved only in your own browser, using a feature called session storage. That data lives on your device so the results page can read it, and it is cleared automatically when you close the browser tab. It is never transmitted to us or anyone else.

The quiz lets you add your child's first name so the printable family agreement can be personalized. This is entirely optional. Like every other answer, it stays in your browser on your device, is used only to fill in the agreement you print, and is never sent to us or placed in any web address.

We do not use cookies, web beacons, fingerprinting, or analytics services. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not track you across other sites. There is no third-party tag on these pages collecting your behavior.

Our recommendations link out to device makers, carriers, and the official sources we cite. Once you follow a link, you are on that company's website, which has its own privacy practices we do not control. Outbound links use rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer", so we do not pass along any information about you.

Affiliate disclosure: some outbound links may be affiliate links, which means we could earn a commission if you buy something. This never changes your price and never influences our scoring. The matching engine is deterministic and source-agnostic.

This site is designed for parents and guardians, not for children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The optional first name is entered by a parent, stays on the parent's device, and is never collected by us, consistent with the spirit of the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

If we ever change how the site handles data, for example by adding a feature that needs a server, we will update this page and its "last updated" date before that feature goes live. Our intent is to stay tracker-free and account-free.
